Homemade Rattle
I got this idea from another family in church. Their little girl was playing with an old medicine bottle filled with beads. They were nice enough to let Brandon play with it and he loved it. I decided to make one for Brandon. Only I filled it with rice instead of beads. Quieter for church.
Frame
I used some scrapbook paper to cover the boring white part of this picture frame. It's so cute now!!
Light switch cover
You can get the tutorial here. Oh, and it doesn't really explain how to cut the holes for the light switch and screw holes. Use a seam ripper.
Brandon
Just made of scrapbook paper. I used a saucer plate to trace the blue circle. Then found a picture of a star on google and traced it from my computer screen. There ya go!
Etching
For the etching, I used a Cricut to cut out the letters on contact paper, peel off the back and stick the sticky part to your project. Then you use some glass etching stuff (found at Roberts) and follow the directions on that. Super easy! and fun. Enjoy!
Personalized glass etching for Pyrex. I did this as a wedding gift for my sister-in-law. |

Pillows
My sister-in-law got the idea from one of her friends to make pillows out of place mats. We went to Pier 1 and picked out place mats -- about $5 each. Then, you unpick a hole big enough for your fist to fit through and stuff it with batting. You can either hand stitch it back together or I used my sewing machine -- a little tricky. But they turned out great and I love them!!
Brandon's blessing outfit
This thing literally took blood, sweat, and tears to make but it was worth it. Brandon looked so nice in it. Plus I loved all the compliments :)
Grocery Bag Holder
I got the instructions for this project here. But I just used a dish towel instead of buying fabric.
4 Blankets in 1
Brandon had outgrown some of his little receiving blankets. Actually, they were too small to begin with. So, I sewed them together and made one big blanket so I could swaddle him.
Nursing Cover
I made this a couple of months before Brandon was born. I couldn't find the pattern I used but this is pretty close.
Food and Crafts
Those are my two favorite things. I love to create. I hope you enjoy seeing the things I craft.
