Popsicle stick Puzzles

Super easy project. Normally I would have used modpodge to flue the pictures to the popsicle sticks but I am out of Mod Podge. So I just used a good old glue stick instead.

Fabric Liner

I've been wanting to do this project for a long time and finally found a cardboard box that was the perfect size. I got directions from this blog. When I first read it, all the math made me feel really overwhelmed but once I did it I realized it wasn't really that hard at all. And in her tutorial I think she covers the rest of the box with fabric but I just used acrylic paint.

Updated Actions Dice

Brandon found my actions dice the other day and decided to step on it. Stinker. I wasn't all that upset about it, though, because I'd been wanting to remake it anyway and now I had a reason to do it. I used my Cricut to cut out images and laminated each square with packing tape. It makes it so much more durable.

Square felt animals

These turned out SO cute!! I love them. I made these felt animals for out little class of Sunbeams in Primary to hold during sharing time. It gives them something to do and it's quiet. It wasn't hard at all to put these together. Just a little more time consuming than I was expecting. Each one took me about an hour to make. But it was totally worth it.

(pig, cat, cow, dog, rabbit, owl)

1. Cut squares out of felt. My squares are 3" x 3".
2. Cut out the eyes using black and white felt.
3. Cut out everything else the noses, beaks, ears, wings, legs, arms
4. Stitch on the eyes, noses, and beaks on one of the squares. Then stitch the smiles using black thread.
5. Put the 2 squares together and start stitching them together with a blanket stitch.
6. As you stitch, add in the arms, legs, wings, ears.
7. Leave an opening and stuff the square with filling.
8. Close up the stitch and say "howdy!" to your new friend!!

Actions Dice

I got this great idea from pinterest. We desperately needed a fun way to keep our little Sunbeams happy during our Primary class. This was a HUGE hit! They all loved taking turns rolling it and doing the actions. I need to make one for Brandon too!

I would suggest laminating the paper first (or use packing tape) if you plan on using this a lot. Mine got a little beat up after a one time use and six 3-year-olds.

Cut out 6 pieces of cardstock. Mine are 4"x4" squares.
Write the activities on each square.
Tape squares together.
Before you tape the last square on, stuff in a few pieces of crumpled up newspaper to give it more stability.

Butterfly Wall Decals

Ever since we moved here I've been trying to think of ways to decorate the kids' rooms. We tried a stick-on wall border for Brandon's room but our walls are textured so it didn't really have much to hold on to. I found these cute wall decal stickers online and wanted to get them so bad for Katy's room. Then I realized that I could make pretty much the same thing with scrapbook paper and my Cricut. So, that's what I did! I love the way they turned out. And I sophiticatedly (yeah, it's a word) attached them to the wall with good old scotch tap. I also had some vinyl sheets that I used to cut out Katy's name.

Little Boy Tie

I was SO happy to see a tutorial on little boy ties. It hurts me to go to Tie One On at the mall and spend $20 on one tie for Brandon. I went through my fabric scraps and made 7 ties for free! For those who are LDS, you can use old garments for whatever you want once you've cut the marks out. I used some old silk garments for the inside fabric of the tie. Makes them look like fancy and like they were store bought!

You can find instructions for this project here. She also has a link to the pattern. These were so easy to make and didn't take too long. Especially if you don't make 7 ties like I did :)

The tutorial says that 1/4 yard of fabric would be plenty. That's probably right. You could probably use old t-shirts or something! Also, I lengthened a couple of these ties just to see which ones would fit best on my almost 3-year-old. The original pattern length was fine.
